If your camcorder uses firewire then I would suggest you buy a laptop with a firewire input. I recommend an Acer Aspire 7720G as it has a high specification (needed for editing video), a good graphics card and a Firewire input.

Being a laptop, the sound quality always suffers in the bass department - Buying external speakers is always a great improvement over integrated speakers - But in this case, unless you want to play music/DVDs loud, you should be satisfied with the quality of the integrated speakers.
