The principal difference between these two models is that the 5720Z has an Intel Core 2 Duo as opposed to an intel pentium dual core. This second geberation dual-core processor is much more effiecint when it comes to multi-tasking.
Therefore, it depends whether you think that multi-tasking will be important to you. For example, if you're into downloading the 5720Z will be much better because it'll let you get on with something else without any slowdown.

For playing 3D games like those you have mentioned, I would really suggest either a 5920G or a 7720G - The G is important as these signify the versions of the laptops that are great for gaming (as they have improved graphics cards).
