We don't keep specs on older laptop. I think your laptop might use IDE hard drives rather than the SATA drive you are equirying about. Acer tech support can confirm this on 0870 760 1000.

Everything you have just mentioned in your question would be invalidating your warranty. If you want to make these changes then the onus would be on yourself to modify the unit. You might have an issue with compatibility on the hardrives which is my main concern.

Sorry not firmilar with the Dell range. If the laptop is no more than 1.5 years old it will use a SATA hard drive like this product you are asking the question about though.
