Question from maggie: Asked on 24/01/2011 which is better the 5336 or the 5742z for general use and boy of 8 years old. and watching dvd

Answer from vicki: Answered on 24/01/2011
For overall performance I would say the 5742 buy a mile. For general surfing the internet and watching DVD's then the 5336.

Question from yvonne: Asked on 14/01/2011 When looking at the Acer Aspire on both this and other retail sites what is better 500GB Hard Drive with 2GB RAM Memory or 250GB Hard Drive with 3GB memory?

Answer from vicki : Answered on 17/01/2011
It is six of one and half a dozen of the other if I am being honest. Having a larger hardrive is very beneficial although the Ram does play a more important role. you can always buy an external hardrive to connect via USB whilst the Ram on the other hand requires some installation. Please give us a call to discuss your options.

Question from Philip Allen: Asked on 12/01/2011 Looking at the 5334 or 5336. What is basic difference and which do you recommend?
Also concerned they do not have Intel Pentium processor. Is there a model which includes this of similar size and keyboard layout?

Answer from vicki: Answered on 13/01/2011
Only two differences I can see between these two models. 1. slightly better processor on the 5336 model, also it has a better webcam at 1.3mp

Question from Randall: Asked on 17/12/2010 Hi. I just purchased a 5336-2613. Will it be able to sufficiently play video games for my son, that is, games such as NBA 2K11 and Need For Speed Shift (Electronic Arts). i ask because these Dvds say the minimum requirement is a Pentium 4 equivalent 2.4 ghz or Intel Core 2 duo 2 ghz. Will I be close enough with what I have? Thanks.

Answer from vicki: Answered on 23/12/2010
For any 3D gaming you would be required to have a dedicated graphics card which this model does not.
As it has a Celeron processor this is very low spec so may not run the games to the best of their ability

Question from karim acer: Asked on 16/12/2010 Does this laptop have a dvd writer?
