The screen resolution is 1280 x 800 in a 16:10 ratio which is around the same as 720p in 16:9 widescreen.

No firewrie port but you can get expansion cards to give you extra ports. Downloading info from your camcorder will depend on what ports it has and whether there is one on the laptop to which it can be connected to.

Unfortunately we can't downgrade Vista Home Premium just Vista Business and Ultimate due to software issues.
