Nothing really in terms of spec as the Intel core 2 duo is quite a light energy effcient processor.
The heaviest part of a laptop is the screen so the only difference across the board is that mobile laptops have smaller screens.

Unfortunately not.The Vista home premium drivers are not compatible with XP. If the laptop has Vista Business or Ultimate then give our sales team a call they can organize a downgrade.

It depends entirely on what you want it for.

The spec is much stronger on the samsung, in terms of processor speed, RAM, storage and bluetooth. It is also £70 cheaper, and much more mobile at almosthalf the weight of the Vaio.

The Vaio, on the other hand is a better entertainment laptop as it has a much better graphics card and a 17 inch x black screen which is much better than the oneon the samsung.

If i was choosing it would be the samsung. But, since I don't know what you want it for I can't give you a definative answer. If you want to get back to me and tell me what you want your laptop for I can be more helpful.

It should be fine with most graphics applications, although I dont think all the 3D effects in Vista will be available with integrated graphics.

It's a 1.3mp camera. The battery life can range from 2 to 4 hours depending on use. To maximise battery life, reduce screen brightness and remove CDs from the drive that are not being used.
