Yes it can be used for those tasks. Note there is no optical dirve for playing movies but we sell USB drives and you can play movies from a USB memory stick that we also sell.

Not sure if you can fit a non solid state hardr to the EEEPC900 all the models in the range have a SSHD you would need to contact Asus (0870 120 8340). We sell the EEEPC904HD that has a 2.5" 160GB mechical hard drive it would make more sense to go for that due to the cost and hassle of changing a hard drive configuring it in a EEEPC900.

Has a 0.3 mega pixel web cam so is reasonable quality. MSN and Skype will work on this laptop. Also has speakers but will not be that loud due to the fact this increases battery life.

It will do what you mentioned but it's not realy ment for games. Will play on very basic ones. You can install office but downloading it and entering in the product key from the box due to it not have a CD drive.
