OEM means the software can only be purchased when a piece of hardware is purchased.

Question from Neil: Asked on 08/05/2007 I know that your compnay adds the software on the laptop for the customer and we don't get a disc but what if the laptop breaks and the software goes - does that mean will have to buy the software again? What does "OEM" mean and what does it do?

You receive a license code which can be used to get a media copy from Micrsoft.

If your require a restore disc, you have to go to Microsofts site to get one.
