The limiting factor with your broadband connection is the speed of the internet connection itself rather than the wireless connection speed.

This Gemstone notebook would be suitable for the use you have described thanks to its dual core processor. The Aspire 5710 has the new Gemstone chassis which is light weight and more robust than the older Aspire 5633 chassis.

Up to 3 hours Battery Life, which is comparatively good for a powerful 15.4" laptop.

The only difference is the performance of 3D applications, like PC Games and 3D modelling. The display quality depends on the screen, not the graphics card so for all other uses there would be no noticeable difference. A better graphics card could, however, support extra features and add-ons such as desktop management software, which is included with it's drivers.
