Regarding the connection to WIFI you shouldn't have any issues with both running at once.

Question from PhilT: Asked on 29/11/2007 dinesh was badly advised - compatibility of different security methods for wifi varies a lot between devices and manufacturers, it isn't because it it Linux you can have the same issue with two XP or Vista PCs with different wireless cards in them.

Question from Al: Asked on 24/11/2007 You can use the advanced system (Xandros) by following this guide:
http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:getkde
Or if you prefer to install another OS, including Ubuntu 7.10 or Windows XP try here:
http://wiki.eeeuser.com/home#installing_alternative_operating_systems
There seems to be lots of community support about this laptop already and it works so well under Linux - providing everything a home user needs to surf the web and do office, so I don't think you would need microsoft office to be honest. OpenOffice (built in) provides Word, Excel and PowerPoint compatible equivalents.
