Question from rizzle08: Asked on 28/03/2008 I received this laptop 2 weeks ago, at first it seemed to be working fine but recently it hasn't been performing too smoothly, a certain amount of time after I've switched the computer on and been using it, the desktop goes pure black and blanks out off all the icons on the desktop, the taskbar also starts disappearing and I cant't use the start function! What could be wrong with it ? As I have been maintaining it very well and have done nothing to alter the way it works in any way? Also if a replacement is necessary how would I go about doing this? I have narrowed it down to 3 - this Dell Inspiron 6400, Acer 5315 and Acer 5310.
All have pros and cons - Dell has 5 hours battery life, 1.Ghz speed and IGb Rm and is £20 cheaper; Acers have only 2 hours battery life but 5315 has 1.86Ghz and I Gb Ram, 5310 has 1.6Ghz but 2Gb Ram. Can you advise which of these Acer combinations will be he faster? Thanks
