Not sure what an external soundtrack is but you can connect a mic or an external sound card if you want to use the laptop for recording audio.

Question from Les: Asked on 02/01/2009 How does the OS XP downgrade work? Do I have to buy separate XP disk to load, or does an XP disk come included? Can I re-load Vista at a later date?

You get an XP disc with it. Just pop it in and it will install the XP OS system automatically. If you want reload vista at a later date then either order a recovery disc with the laptop from us, or make a recovery when you receive the laptop and if at a later date you wish to reinstall, follow the same path as installing XP with the vista disc.

All laptops come with a trial version of Microsoft Office. You can purchase the version of office you need at the same time as your laptop if you wish
